Police are separately investigating two deaths after two bodies were found in Vancouver on Saturday morning.

The incidents are not related.

Just before 10:30 a.m., a woman’s body was recovered from the Columbia River in west Vancouver, according to Vancouver police. The body was reported in an area west of the railroad bridge.

The woman’s age and the circumstances of her death are not known, said Vancouver police Sgt. Rod Trumpf. The body was turned over to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office as an investigation continues, Trumpf said.

In a separate incident reported around the same time Saturday, a man was found dead on the side of the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail near Northeast Andresen Road, Trumpf said.

In that case, Trumpf said, “it does not appear that (he was) the victim of a crime.”

Police did not release other details. Both incidents remained under investigation Saturday.
