Chase Resch rushed for 231 yards and two touchdowns as Wenatchee took advantage of Skyview miscues in the red zone to win 41-27 in a Class 4A state first-round game in Wenatchee.

Skyview threw two red zone interceptions and twice was stopped on four-and-goal at the Wenatchee 1-yard line as the Panthers built a 27-0 lead in the third quarter.

The Storm started to get back into the game after being stopped on the second fourth-and-goal situation when Wenatchee fumbled on its first play of the following possession and Skyview recovered for a touchdown.

After Olive Emmy’s second interception of the night, Skyview cut the deficit to 27-14 on Nate Rider’s 14-yard touchdown pass from Zac Shomler.

But the Skyvew defense could not stop Wenatchee when it needed to.

Wenatchee pushed their lead to 34-14 before Skyview cut it to 34-21. Then the Panthers sealed it away by making 41-21 on a 52-yard touchdown run by Resch.

Shomler finished with 299 yards on 26-of-47 passing. Bryson Enge had seven catches for 112 yards for the Storm, who finished the season 7-4.
