The Skyview girls basketball team went cold in the fourth quarter, allowing Lake Stevens to pull away for a 47-34 win in a Class 4A state opening-round game Friday in Arlington.

With the loss, the Storm saw their season come to an end at 15-10.

No. 9 seed Lake Stevens never trailed after taking an early 5-2 lead.

But every time the Vikings looked to pull away, No. 16 Skyview would rally to make it close, getting with 22-19 by halftime.

Lake Stevens opened the third quarter with a 13-4 run to lead 35-23. But the Storm got within 39-33 early in the fourth quarter on a basket by Charlotte Baker to open the fourth.

But that would be the Storm’s final basket of the game.

Kiera Parks led a balanced attack by Skyview with nine points. Watson had eight points, and Taryah Hamstreet added seven.
