Week 5 fall sports athlete of the week nominees

Nominees for high school fall athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 11. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

LIVI COX, UNION SWIMMING: Cox won the 200 individual medley (2:19.88), the 100 backstroke (1:03.02) and helped Union win the 400 free relay at the Kelso Invitational.

SILAS GRIFFITH RIDGEFIELD BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Griffith finished second in a league dual with Mark Morris, then won the Boys Invitational race at the George Fox XC Classic.

PAGE HELLER COLUMBIA RIVER VOLLEYBALL: Heller had 44 assists, nine kills, five aces and five digs in two matches as Columbia River opened league play with two wins.

ALISSA PUDLITZKE, CAMAS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Pudlitzke won a league tri-meet with Union and Mountain View and placed fifth in Girls Elite race at the George Fox XC Classic.

SPENCER TIBBITS, FORT VANCOUVER GOLF: Tibbits shot a 3-under 32 at Lewis River in a match against Columbia River and a 4-under 33 at Tri-Mountain against Prairie.
