Vote for Week 2 football player of the week

Nominees for high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 13. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Tuesday with results published in Wednesday’s Columbian.

NATHAN EGGLESTON, RIDGEFIELD: Eggleston rushed for 140 yards on 24 carries and two TDs in the Spudders’ win over Kalama.

AUSTEN JOHNSON, HOCKINSON: Johnson rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and caught four passes for 69 yards in the Hawks’ win over Prairie.

GUNNER TALKINGTON, BATTLE GROUND: Talkington passed for 372 yards on 23-of-30 passing and 4 TD and ran for 120 yards on 27 carries in the Tigers’ win over Spanaway.

KALANI UMIAMAKA, HERITAGE: Umiamaka rushed for 165 yards on 17 carries, almost entirely in the first half of Heritage’s 50-7 win over Hudson’s Bay.

ELI WHITMIRE, WOODLAND: Whitmire rushed for 120 yards on nine carries and one touchdown, caught 2 passes for 32 yards and returned two punts for touchdowns in the Beavers’ 44-0.
