Bennett Lehner of Camas soccer was voted The Columbian’s high school spring sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending April 11.

Lehner collected 27 percent of the 792 votes cast by fans to beat out Akari Baba of Prairie tennis, who had 22 percent.

Lehner scored five goals in three league wins for the Papermakers.

The other nominees were Peyton Fredrickson of Skyview boys track and field, Cody Hawken of Union baseball and Julia Stepper of Woodland girls track and field.

Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Athletes may be elected player of the week once during the regular season, and no athlete can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
