Week 11 winter sports athlete of the week nominees

Nominees for high school winter athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Feb. 21. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian

ALYSSA BLANKENSHIP, WASHOUGAL GIRLS BASKETBALL: Blankenship set a tournament record with 36 points vs. Mark Morris and had 15 points vs. Hockinson.

KASEY CALWELL, CAMAS BOYS SWIMMING: Calwell was picked swimmer of the meet after winning 4A state titles in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.

ABBY LEES, WASHOUGAL GIRLS WRESTLING: Lees won the girls state championship at 155 pounds.

NICOLE MOSS, HERITAGE GYMNASTICS: Moss earned a runner-up finish in the floor exercise at the 4A state meet.

DERICK TOLLEN, LA CENTER BOYS WRESTLING: Tollen captured the 1A state championship at 126 pounds.
