WSU official to speak on product research March 6

Anson Fatland, associate vice president of economic development and external affairs for Washington State University, will present “From Our Hands to Yours: How Research Results in Real Products” at a March 6 luncheon event, which begins at 11:45 a.m. in Firstenburg Student Commons at WSU Vancouver, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.

Fatland has worked in biotech, venture capital and philanthropy and has started companies in the areas of life sciences and alternative energy. At WSU, he works to maximize economic impact.

Hakan Gurocak, director of the School of Engineering and Computer Science for WSUV will also present his research in areas of robotics and automation. Gurocak will share details of his work that has resulted in two pending patents.
