Littleton Davidson’s tip-in basket at the overtime buzzer lifted Hockinson to a 54-52 win over visiting Washougal on Thursday in a Class 2A Greater St. Helens League boys basketball game.

Hockinson’s Jared Broer tried a 3-pointer with time running out. Davidson was able to tap the rebound into the basket before the buzzer.

It was the second big basket for Davidson, who scored off an inbound pass to force the game into overtime.

Hockinson (7-5, 3-1 GSHL) scored the first six points in overtime to lead 52-46, but Washougal (10-2, 3-1) scored the next six points. The winning play started with the Hawks inbounding the ball under their attacking basket. Hockinson worked the ball around the perimeter before Broer took his shot. Davidson’s winning basket was his team-high ninth rebound.

Ry Paulson scored a career-high 16 points to lead a strong performance by the Hockinson reserves. The Hawks had 35 points from players who came off the bench, including 11 from Kinai Kiuokawa.

Noah Prangley scored 29 points for Washougal. He hit three 3 pointers and made 10 free throws and also had 11 rebounds.
