SEATTLE — DaVonte Lacy hit six straight free throws down the stretch and finished with 25 points as Washington State held off a late Washington surge to earn an 80-77 win on Saturday.

The Cougars won back-to-back road games for the first time since 2009.

Washington State (8-7, 2-1 Pac-12) handed the Huskies (11-4, 0-3) their four consecutive loss after an 11-0 start.

Que Johnson scored 15 points, Ike Iroegbu had 13 and Brett Boese added 11 for Washington State. Josh Hawkinson scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds to end his streak of six straight double-doubles.

Nigel Williams-Goss scored a season-high 30 points for Washington. Shawn Kemp Jr. and Andrew Andrews had 12 apiece, and Mike Anderson and Robert Upshaw added 10 each.

Washington ripped off a 7-0 run, capped by Andrews’ three-point play, to give Washington a 68-67 lead. The Cougars responded with a 7-2 run, though, and held off the Huskies down the stretch thanks to Lacy hitting each of his free-throw attempts.

It was Washington State’s first win at Washington since knocking off the Huskies 80-69 on Feb. 27, 2011.

Washington State took control of the game midway through the second half after a 10-2 run for a 54-47 lead. Lacy scored five during the run.

In the first half, Andrews and Williams-Goss put the Huskies out front 9-2 early, but the Cougars slowly reeled them in before taking their first lead of the game with 1:17 left before the half on a jumper from Iroegbu.

The teams were tied 37-37 at halftime.
