Medical examiner says man’s death a suicide

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that a man found dead last month in the Columbia River near Vancouver died from suicide.

Craig W. Grundmeier, 54, was spotted in the water near the point where the Willamette River meets the Columbia on the night of Dec. 7.

The medical examiner’s office said he died of multiple blunt-force injuries a couple of days before he was found.
