Week 6 winter sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Nominees for high school winter athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Jan. 17. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian

EMILY BASNETT, COLUMBIA RIVER BOWLING: Basnett averaged 205 over six games last week, including games of 244 and 251.

NIKKI CORBETT, CAMAS GIRLS BASKETBALL: Corbett had 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks vs. Skyview and 14 points vs. Heritage.

DEVIN JOHNSON, BATTLE GROUND BOYS BASKETBALL: Johnson averaged 24 points in two Battle Ground wins last week.

NICOLE MOSS, HERITAGE GYMNASTICS: Moss won the vault, bars, floor and all-around in Session 2 of the Winterfest meet.

DERICK TOLLEN, LA CENTER BOYS WRESTLING: Tollen became the lone 1A wrestler to win a Clark County Championship.
