Recreation day-use fees at sites throughout national forests in Washington and Oregon will be waived the next two Saturdays.

The U.S. Forest Service is waiving the fee for this Saturday in commemoration of National Trails Day and on June 13 for National Get Outdoors day.

Day-use fees are charged at 30 locations in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Among them are the interpretive sites at Windy Ridge, Smith Creek, Lava Canyon and Ape Cave at Mount St. Helens.

Among the trailheads are Cultus Creek No. 108, Indian Heaven No. 33, Thomas Lake No. 111 plus Norway Pass and Ape Canyon. Goose Lake boat ramp also is a fee site.

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest, National Park Service and others will have their annual National Get Outdoors Day event June 13 at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
