Washougal — Award-winning author Elizabeth Rusch visited Hathaway Elementary School on May 26, holding two assemblies and running three writing workshops.

In her assemblies, which were split up for students in kindergarten through second grade and students in third through fifth grades, she discussed her life as a writer, how she gets her ideas, her writing process and how she researches her books. She also led three writing workshops for fourth-graders.

Rusch’s visit was made possible due to a grant from the Washougal Schools Foundation and from Hathaway Boosters funding.
