Letter: Smart voters will vote smart

The Columbian
Published: June 6, 2015, 12:00am

Reading his June 2 letter “Vote to move nation forward,” I worry for voters like Joseph R. Maurer, who believe the left’s propaganda and ridiculing of the right with distortions and the self-serving stereotypes that are only from a Hollywood script.

The reasons given against blacks, Hispanics, LGBTs, taxing the rich, support for vets, etc., are just a tactic that play to the emotions of the weak-minded. You know the ones liberals created who expect free stuff for doing nothing, the “it is not my fault” types and those who need government to control every aspect of their lives because they won’t do it themselves. I do feel for those who can’t help themselves and fully support programs that actually help them.

Free-thinking, take-charge people who want the control and liberties they deserve are going to vote for one of “the plethora of presidential wannabes” so they can get government and the pick-pocketing-for-votes liberals out of their lives.
