Hazel Dell — Hazel Dell Elementary School hosted its 27th annual Enrichment Fair on May 28, bringing together hundreds of students and more than 150 volunteers so students could participate in two hands-on classes.

The classes ranged in topics from making birdhouses to building robots with recycled materials to working in the school garden.

In the garden class, students tasted varieties of tomatoes, compared the nutrition in tomato juice and soda, made tomato snacks, planted tomatoes and took home a tomato plant, which was donated by horticulture classes at Vancouver Public School’s Flex Academy.
