Police are investigating after an adult reportedly drew a handgun on a group of juveniles during an altercation at a Washougal park Tuesday night.

Washougal police were originally called to Captain William Clark Park, near South 32nd and Index streets, at about 9 p.m. Tuesday for a reported physical altercation, Sgt. Geoff Reijonen said. About six or seven juveniles and about three adults were involved, he said.

Prior to police arriving, Reijonen said, one of the adults showed a handgun and told everyone to back up.

Details about the alleged brandishing are under investigation, but no shots were fired and no one was injured, Reijonen said.

Police are still trying to talk to everyone involved, Reijonen said, and once the reports are completed, they will be forwarded to the Washougal City Attorney’s Office or the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.

Anyone with information about the altercation is asked to call Sgt. Zane Freschette at 360-835-8701.
