A Saturday afternoon fire damaged the front porch of a home in east Vancouver’s Bennington neighborhood.

The fire was reported about 4:20 p.m. at 18106 S.E. 11th St.

Vancouver firefighters arrived to find a fire on the covered front porch of the single-story home, which county property records indicate was built in 2002.

Firefighters knocked down the porch fire within minutes, but there was some damage to the home, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

In all, three fire engines and a truck company responded to the fire. Vancouver firefighters were assisted by the Camas-Washougal Fire Department.

County property records list the owners of the home as Ronald and Sharon Eilers.
