TBILISI, Georgia — Police and volunteers in the Georgian capital are searching for another tiger that might have fled a zoo wrecked by severe flooding.

The hunt follows Wednesday’s incident in which a runaway tiger mauled a man to death before being killed by police. The zoo director said another tiger and a hyena could be on the loose.

On Friday, Rustavi 2 television showed three pictures of a tiger taken in different areas of Tbilisi. Giorgi Metreveli, a hunter involved in the search, told the TV station the pictures appear to show the same animal.

Police received dozens of calls, and a tiger’s growl was audible in one of them. It turned out to be a prank by teenagers who had recorded and played the sound into the phone.
