Firefighters quickly put out a blaze that apparently started on the deck of a Salmon Creek house and spread to the attic Wednesday morning.

Crews from Clark County Fire District 6 were dispatched to the house, in the 1000 block of Northwest 134th Street, at about 8 a.m.

Firefighters on the first engine that arrived on scene knocked down the blaze within about 10 minutes, Battalion Chief Todd Iremonger said.

The occupants of the house were displaced, Iremonger said.

Eighteen firefighters, including crews from Vancouver Fire Department, assisted at the scene.
