EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The legal problems are not over for an 82-year-old Florence man who was convicted of firing shotgun rounds at a boat last summer.
Two fishermen have filed a $200,000 civil lawsuit against Elden Nordahl, a former real estate developer.
Nordahl was convicted of criminal mischief and unlawful use of a weapon after, authorities say, he shot the boat’s hull and motor last summer. He took out the shotgun after the Siuslaw River fishermen made an emergency stop at a dock attached to Nordahl’s property.
Nordhal spent 18 days in jail after his arrest and another four weeks behind bars following the conviction in Lane County Circuit Court.
