A man faces charges after he allegedly threw a brick through a window and ran from police Monday night.

Craig Eugene Norman, 45, allegedly threw an 8-by-4-inch cinder block through a window of an apartment at 3311 E. 18th St. at about 7:15 p.m., according to court documents filed in the case.

When officers arrived, Norman ran away and threw a small pouch into the bushes, according to court documents.

Officers caught and arrested Norman and found a sand club in his pocket, according to the documents. The pouch that Norman threw was recovered and a field test showed the substance tested positive for methamphetamine, according to court records.

The man inside the apartment, Todd Cropper, said that the brick nearly hit him in the head, according to court documents.

Norman, who is listed as a transient, faces charges of reckless endangerment, obstructing a public servant, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on $10,000 bail.
