Nominate outstanding youth for Clark County award

Nominations are now open for the 17th annual Youth Achievement Awards, honoring people ages 11 to 19.

As many as 300 youths will be recognized at a celebration in June.

Coordinated by the Clark County Youth Commission under the guidance of the Department of Community Services, the awards recognize youths who have achieved something great in any of 13 categories: arts, career development, citizenship, courage, education, empathy, environmental stewardship, family life, inspiration, leadership, personal achievement, sportsmanship and tolerance.

Anyone may submit nominations and youths may nominate themselves. Nomination forms and complete information can be found at www.clark.wa.gov/youth-family/commission.html. Mail completed nomination forms to Youth Achievement Celebration, Clark County Youth House, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000. Forms must be postmarked by Tuesday, March 24. Or, fax your nominations to 360-397-2164 by 5 p.m. that day.
