Letter: Heal nation through prayer

The Columbian
Published: May 4, 2015, 5:00pm

May 7 is the 64th annual National Day Of Prayer. The theme is “Lord, Hear Our Cry.” The Bible tells us in 2 Chronicles, 7:14, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Our land truly needs healing.

Pray for our police, our military and our government officials that God would give them His wisdom, to govern our country in a good and Godly way.

The U.S. Supreme Court is taking up the matter of gay marriage. There is a higher court that has more authority than our Supreme Court. It is The Supreme Court and Law of the Universe. The laws are in God’s Holy Word, The Bible, that tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:9,10, (New American Standard Bible), that no homosexuals will inherit the kingdom of God. We are sliding faster and faster down the slippery slope of ungodliness into destruction and chaos.

We, the United States, are headed for bankruptcy. For 42 years now, we have had legalized abortion (murder). There are people who have prophesied that bombs will be falling on our cities. When that happens, it will be because God will punish us for our ungodly ways.

So, please pray and ask God to forgive us.
