A major outage of the Secretary of State’s election system was preventing potential candidates from filing online for this year’s election. The website appears to be functioning again.

According to an alert from the secretary’s office, there was an outage of the Northwest Open Access Network, or NOANet, affecting all election Web applications, including online candidate filing, the Washington Election Information system and websites, and administration of the Voter Registration Database.

Interested candidates were still able to file in person with their respective counties. Potential candidates in Clark County can file in person at the elections office at 1408 Franklin St. in Vancouver. In Cowlitz County, interested candidates can file at 207 N. Fourth Ave. in Kelso.
