YAKIMA — Authorities say a man has been arrested for shooting and injuring an acquaintance in the driveway of his West Valley home.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports that the 64-year-old suspect was booked into the Yakima County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault Tuesday.

Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Ed Levesque says the 20-year-old victim, of Naches, had been pulling into the suspect’s driveway when he crashed into the older man’s pickup truck.

The suspect is accused of firing a single shot that struck the victim in the arm. An update on the victim’s condition is not known.
