Week 5 fall sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Weekly vote, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 10.

Athletes may win the honor once in during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

YACINE GUERMALI, CAMAS BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Guermali placed fourth overall in the George Fox Classic, helping Camas finish second.

SAVANNA CRAIG, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Craig placed fifth overall at the Sandelie Invitational in Wilsonville.

ELLE NESBITT, WOODLAND VOLLEYBALL: Nesbitt has 61 assists and 22 digs in two big league wins for the Beavers.

TARYN RIES, RIDGEFIELD GIRLS SOCCER: Ries had two goals and three assists in two league wins for the Spudders

MAKENA WILCOX, COLUMBIA RIVER SWIMMING: Wilcox won the 100 fly and 100 back and swam on 2 winning relays in the Kelso Invitational.
