A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital Thursday night after he rounded a corner and slammed into a deer around 7:30 p.m. on Northeast Etna Road northwest of Amboy.

Clark County Sheriff’s Sgt. Pete Muller said the rider, a 58-year-old man, was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for his injuries.

Muller said a passer-by found the man around the 7100 block of Etna Road, then called 911. Muller did not know the extent of the man’s injuries beyond that the rider complained of chest pain.

Muller said the man’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The rider’s name was not immediately available.

The deer was no where to be found at the scene, Muller said, and the man’s motorcycle appeared to be brand new.
