PORTLAND — A woman who says she was raped while attending Oregon State University seeks $7.5 million in a federal lawsuit against the school and ex-football coach Mike Riley.

The woman accuses the university of failing to remedy a sexually violent culture among the football team that contributed to her being attacked by a player’s cousin.

University spokesman Steve Clark told The Oregonian that the school denies the allegations.

According to the lawsuit, the rape that wasn’t reported to police occurred at an off-campus apartment in 1999. Dennis Erickson coached the team that year, but his name does not appear in the suit filed Monday.

Riley was coach the year before, when a different woman said she was raped by four men, one of whom was the player whose cousin is named as the attacker in the lawsuit.
