Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the two-week period ending April 9.
Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.
PARKER BOYD, BATTLE GROUND SOFTBALL: Boyd struck out 43 in three games, including a 1-hit shutout of Columbia River and a five-inning no-hitter vs. Union.
SAVANNA CRAIG, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Craig won the 1,500 and 3,000 at the Titan Track Classic in West Salem, Ore.
ELISE FILUK, CAMAS GIRLS GOLF: Filuk shot an even-par 35 at Camas Meadows, leading the Papermakers to a record-setting win over Union.
MITCH LINES, HOCKINSON BASEBALL: Lines struck out 16 in a shutout win over Washougal. He also went 3 for 9 with a double, RBI, two runs and two walks in three games last week.
CHRISTIAN THYRON, PRAIRIE BOYS SOCCER: Thyron had two goals and two assists in a win over Black Hills, then scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Centralia.
