VANCOUVER —  Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will partner with SOLVE of Oregon to provide cleanup supplies and trash removal along a popular Columbia River trail from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 14.

This section of the Waterfront Renaissance Trail provides a view of the Columbia River, has access to a sandy beach and connects downtown Vancouver with restaurants.

Volunteers will help keep the site clean, improve the health of the local watershed and learn from a National Park Service archaeologist how this area was significant to the Hudson’s Bay Company in the 19th century.

Volunteers must register on the SOLVE website, solveoregon.org/get-involved/event-registration/26477. (The organization previously was known as SOLV, for Stop Litter and Vandalism.)

Bags, gloves and some litter pickers will be available. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.

Meet in the National Park Service parking lot east of Joe’s Crab Shack and Who Song and Larry’s restaurants. Participants are asked to not park in the restaurant parking lots.
