Edgewood Park — Every year, the American Association of University Women Vancouver chapter pays tuition for eighth-grade girls to attend Tech Trek camp at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma.

Tech Trek is uniquely designed to introduce girls to careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Campers participate in activities such as building and programming model robots, fingerprinting, DNA extraction, coding computer applications and dissecting squid.

The students selected this year by the local Vancouver AAUW chapter were Ashlyn Shradbeck, Felicity Burton and Shyann Langord.
