Mountain View — Former Mountain View High School basketball player Carly Holboke, who currently plays for Dominican University of California, was named a nominee for the 2017 Allstate Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Good Works Team. It’s the fifth year of the award, which honors student-athletes for their community service work. Holboke organized the reveal for a Make-A-Wish child who wanted to visit Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii. She also served as president of the Pacific West Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Penguin Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and coached children with physical and mental disabilities. A final roster of 10 award recipients will be announced in February.
