A Vancouver man was injured Sunday evening in a vehicle crash on Northeast Padden Parkway in Orchards.

Luther H. Barnett III, 36, was driving a 2001 Hyundai Accent south on Northeast 152nd Avenue through the intersection with Padden Parkway when, at about 6:30 p.m., his car was struck by a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The pickup was traveling north through the intersection when its driver, Austin M. Post, 24 of Vancouver, attempted to turn left onto Padden and struck Barnett’s car, the State Patrol said.

Barnett sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. He was listed in satisfactory condition at the hospital Sunday night.

Post was not injured, according to the State Patrol.

Police said that the crash was caused by a failure to yield, and that Post was cited for failure to yield the right of way, driving without a valid license and having no insurance.
