Lincoln’s Tamia Braggs got behind the Prairie defense for a layup, and then Lincoln stole the ball as Prairie tried to dribble up court as time expired, giving the Abes (22-1) the semifinal victory in the 3A bi-district semifinal game at Franklin Pierce High School.

Prairie (19-4), already in the 3A state regional round, will play again at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Rogers High in Puyallup for third place.

Prairie’s Cherita Daugherty led all scorers with 22 points. She also had eight rebounds.

Coach Brett Johnson said the Falcons were hampered by foul trouble to key players.

He also pointed out how Prairie had 19 turnovers to Lincoln’s 24.

“It was a high-paced game,” he said. “They shot well. We played well, but give them credit, Lincoln came to play. We just have to be ready for the next game.”
