Vancouver Police Department officers arrested a suspected burglar Wednesday night after Target store employees found him running around the building’s back room in search of a way out.

Police were called to the store, along Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard, at about 10:20 p.m., after getting a report that employees found a man in the store’s back storage area after closing.

The police said he was scrambling to find an exit. He made it outside and soon was found in a taxi in the store’s parking lot. Employees identified the man as the one they encountered in the store.

Officers arrested Jordan David Miller, 22, of Oregon, on suspicion of second-degree burglary, according to police.

Police said Miller is also a suspect in crimes at businesses around the Portland area, ranging from theft to robbery.
