Deputies arrested a boy following a reported drive-by with a BB gun Tuesday evening outside the Kohl’s department store in Hazel Dell.

Deputies were called to the store around 6:20 p.m. to a report that two boys had been shot with a BB gun by someone in a vehicle.

Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Brent Waddell said a deputy caught up with a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident, talked to three boys inside, and arrested one of them.

Waddell said it sounded like the two groups exchanged some unfriendly words, he said, “and so the people in the vehicle turned around and were going to scare them.”

One boy allegedly fired a BB gun, leaving the two outside the car with minor wounds.

The boy who allegedly shot the other two was taken into custody and released to his parents pending any charges, Waddell said.
