The Columbia River Economic Development Council has made changes at the top.

The council on Wednesday announced it had promoted Elizabeth Scott to director of business recruitment and hired Brittany Bagent to be the director of research and economic strategy.

“CREDC is very fortunate to have such a talented team that brings a diverse array of backgrounds and expertise to the organization,” said CREDC president Mike Bomar in a news release. “This is an exciting time to be in economic development, and we are thrilled to welcome Elizabeth and Brittany to their new roles.”

CREDC has been around for 36 years recruiting businesses and helping to build the county’s economy. Recently, the public/private agency had a hand in recruiting Banfield Pet Hospital, which brought 650 employees from Portland to a new headquarters at east Vancouver’s Columbia Tech Center.

“I’m thrilled to join the CREDC at such an exciting time for Clark County,” Bagent said in the release.

Bagent started in her newly created role on June 1. She will lead efforts on land use policy, research and coordinating the council’s economic development plan update.

Scott has been with CREDC for four years, recently as senior project manager. As director of business recruitment she will be in charge of assisting companies considering Clark County as their new home.
