Battle Ground — The North County Community Food Bank hosted an Alice in Wonderland Spring Tea and Fundraiser, bringing in $28,000 to assist in providing educational programming and the distribution of emergency food supplies to those living in poverty. More than 120 people attended the fundraiser, which featured Alice-themed desserts by local bakers. Brecke English, owner of Cake It Personal in Battle Ground, took top honors, as voted on by fundraiser guests, for her cake of some playing cards with paintbrushes under roses that read “Who’s been painting my roses red?” Also competing were the Battle Ground Bakery and Nana’s Tiny Cakes.
