Steelhead fishing workshop scheduled July 23

TROUTDALE, Ore. — A workshop on summer steelhead fishing will begin at 9 a.m. July 23 at Oxbow Regional Park on Oregon’s Sandy River.

Limited to the first 30 to register, the course will cost $22 for youth ages 9 to 17 and $52 for adults. A lunch is provided and the fee includes a one-year membership in the Association of Northwest Steelheaders.

The event is a joint effort of the Sandy River chapter of the association and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.

No prior fishing experience and no gear is needed, although participants are free to bring their own gear.
