Hudson’s Bay — The inaugural Women’s Festival Pacific Northwest took place March 12 at the Fort Vancouver Historic Reserve Artillery Barracks. The festival’s goal is to celebrate women’s achievements and encourage empowerment in honor of International Women’s Month. Opening speaker was Patty DeDominic, CEO of the business consulting firm DeDominic and Associates, who was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015 by President Obama for her continuous commitment to volunteer service. Six other women offered inspirational words to the audience. Michelle Bart received the Pebble Rebel Award for her work as executive director of the National Women’s Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation and as a YWCA Clark County CASA volunteer. All net proceeds from the event were donated to YWCA Clark County.
