Three people reportedly suffered critical injuries and a fourth also was hurt Tuesday night in a car crash near the west Vancouver waterfront.

A gray car was spotted speeding on Southeast Columbia Way just before crashing in front of Joe’s Crab Shack, 101 S.E. Columbia Way, at about 9:05 p.m., according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Four ambulances were called to the scene to take the injured to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to radio traffic. Firefighters also were called to address smoke coming from the car. Police blocked traffic as emergency crews responded.

A call to the Vancouver Police Department for more information was not immediately returned Tuesday night.
