Fuel spill stops traffic on Padden Parkway

Officials blocked a section of Northeast Padden Parkway and rerouted traffic after a fuel spill at the Andresen Road intersection Friday afternoon.

The spill was originally reported at the intersection of Northeast Andresen Road and Northeast Padden Parkway at about 2:15 p.m.

Offramps to Padden Parkway westbound from northbound and southbound Interstate 205 were closed for the spill,  and westbound access to Padden Parkway was blocked at Northeast 117th Street, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Clark Emergency Services Agency said shortly after 3:20 p.m. that the westbound lanes of Padden Parkway were largely cleared out and vehicles were beginning to move through one lane. The state Department of Ecology had been notified, the agency said.

The closures were cleared a little after 4 p.m., WSDOT said.
