Prep soccer: Late goal defeats Union girls soccer, 2-1

Henry Jackson of Everett scored a goal off a rebound with 10 minutes to play to lift the Timberwolves to a 2-1 victory over Union in the Class 4A girls soccer state tournament.

Jackson freshman Katie Cheng poked a rebound in after a Jackson shot bounced off the crossbar in the 70th minute.

Rikki Myers gave Jackson a 1-0 lead with her goal in the 16th minute.

MaKayla Woods got Union even in the first minute of the second half with her goal.

Southridge 3, Mountain View 0 — Jessie Selby had 11 saves in goal as the Thunder lost in the first round of the 3A state tournament in Kennewick.

Southridge built a 1-0 lead at halftime then added on.
