Letter: Herrera Beutler on wrong side

Kudos to The Columbian for its Nov. 4 editorial “Obamacare Not a Failure.” This was a fact-based, well-reasoned column clarifying the reality of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

But the editorial ended with, “next year’s Congress should focus on fixing the problems while enhancing the benefits.” Really? I’m confused. Our current representative, Jaime Herrera Beutler, has made clear her disdain for the Affordable Care Act, both by vocalizing it in her recent debate and by voting numerous times in Congress to end it. Yet on Oct. 2, The Columbian endorsed her for re-election.

Some wag once wrote that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Is it possible that The Columbian has lost its grip?
