Apparently impaired woman drives into east Vancouver Cafe Yumm

A seemingly impaired driver plowed through the front of a Cafe Yumm restaurant Sunday afternoon in east Vancouver.

A woman driving a white pickup drove through one of corner rice bowl restaurant’s glass fronts around 4:30 that afternoon, according to the Vancouver police and fire departments.

Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said officers arrived to the restaurant, at

Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Pete Adams said the woman was transported to a hospital for evaluation, and that no one inside the business was injured.

Kapp said additional information on the crash wasn’t readily available.

Hunks of plywood had been placed over the hole left by the crash. A note on the door from the business read it expected to be back up and running within a few days.
