Update: Due to pending weather, this event has been cancelled.

Vancouver – Washington State University Vancouver will celebrate the addition of a natural play area at its campus preschool and kindergarten Thursday.

The Child Development Program will host a 3:30 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony at the playground next to the McClaskey Building.

The Vancouver Clinic gave $15,000 to build a natural, equipment-free playscape for the program. The play area features native landscaping, hills, rocks, logs and other elements that encourage children to play and use their imaginations in a natural setting.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is open to the public.
