Letter: Trump drags us into the gutter

Information about Donald Trump, the person, has been available since before the campaign. I doubt that the nasty things he said about women will deter his followers. It probably falls under the same category as “I could walk down the street and shoot somebody”; they’ll love him more! His braggadocios nature and willingness to step on people on his way up have been admired.

For fun, juxtapose the things Trump stands for with the morals, family values, and empathy that we’ve seen in the White House the past eight years. No comparison. Yet, his supporters want to make America great again.

I’m sad about what has happened to the Republican Party and to our nation. I hope we can climb out of the gutter.
