Train strikes man in Gresham, Ore.

PORTLAND — Authorities say a Union Pacific train has struck and killed a man in Gresham.

Police say the pedestrian was found dead at about 4 a.m. Thursday. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being investigated and the man’s identity is not yet known.

The eastbound train hit the man just west of 181st Avenue.

Union Pacific will lead the investigation.
