An off-duty Portland police officer was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving Saturday in Clark County, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The department said Rodney Gustafson, a 27-year veteran of the agency, was arrested by Clark County sheriff’s deputies early Saturday morning and cited for driving while impaired.

Gustafson has been reassigned to taking reports via phone while the case is pending, which the Portland Police Bureau said is standard procedure.

The Portland police said the case will be subject to an internal review and presented to Portland’s Police Review Board, the agency’s oversight body.
